Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains, and let those in her midst leave, and let not those who are in the countryside come into her.
Luke 21:21
During the attacks by Titus in AD 70, this was good advice. In spite of the fact that it took some time to finally destroy all the vestiges of Jewish resistance, the evil job was finally done. Jesus’s words are not meant to discourage the Jewish people, but to serve as a true warning. This verse also has a yet future fulfillment in the end times.
Heavenly Father, Your mercy and grace are a constant joy to my heart! How can I ever cease to praise You? My mouth will find its employment forever in proclaiming Your great goodness, justice, and profound love! I love You! In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray and praise You, Amen.
